Built in 1886, Auckland's Anglican Cathedral Church of St. Mary is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of a Gothic-style wooden church in the world. With exceptional craftsmanship, in 1982 the entire church was placed on rollers and successfully moved to the other side of Parnell Road. The Anglican Cathedral Church of St. Mary is one of a number of churches in the Auckland area built by Bishop Selwyn, an early Anglican Missionary living in New Zealand.
